I count it a privilege to give my testimony to the value of Christian Science. Divine Love found me wandering, lonely, and without hope of relief from sin and disease. I am thankful for this blessed healing truth which came to me three years ago. To-day my life is very different,—contentment has taken the place of unrest, and understanding has displaced distrust. I have had many demonstrations of the power of Truth in the healing of sickness, and the overcoming of an unpleasant disposition,—fault-finding, hatred, almost everything that would make one miserable.
I had suffered for sixteen years with bleeding piles, and for fifteen years I was a slave to morphine, which I felt obliged to use for pain in my head and bowels. A physician said that nothing but an operation could relieve my suffering. When but four years old I had contracted a disease which made me entirely blind for six weeks. This caused my eyes to be very weak and I was compelled to wear glasses for a year, before I learned of Christian Science. To material sense I suffered all that any mortal could and live. I thought sometimes I would lose my reason, but, thank God, when this healing truth found me, in four hours old things had passed away and all things become new. I was relieved of pain and heartache, and I was filled with joy. All that I am I owe to Christian Science. I am deeply thankful to my heavenly Father for this blessed truth that we have received through the never-ceasing love and labor of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. With the aid of the Bible and Science and Health, I will continue until all the tares are rooted up and nothing remains but the wheat to be garnered in the heavenly storehouse. The Lesson-Sermons have been to me like daily food to the hungry.
My prayer is a desire to live a life will prove my gratitude to God, to the great Wayshower, and to our Leader.—Mrs. Minnie E. Woock, Brainerd, Minn.
