Mental Windows

In Christian Science we learn that as man is the divine likeness he reflects God. The way in which we may prove this statement came to me the other day, to a degree, through a simple illustration. On the opposite side of the street was an office which had been vacant for a long time, and as the rays of the morning sun fell upon its windows, they were reflected to my desk. One morning the light was so very bright that I was led to make an investigation. As my eye caught the full reflection the light was quite blinding. A moment more and the reason was apparent. The office had been let and its windows thoroughly washed. The lesson was clear. If we are to reflect more of the Godlike qualities, the accumulated errors of mortal belief must be washed away by the application of the truth to our mental windows. So long as we allow the beliefs of selfishness, stubbornness, envy, jealousy, hatred, and self-righteousness, to cloud our consciousness, we cannot reflect the Truth of being, nor are we ready for the reign of Love.
