During the summer of 1889 my mother was at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for the baths and treatment. The doctors gave her up, and told her if she ever expected to see her friends she had better return home. Christian Science was then brought to her notice, and after three weeks' treatment she came home well. I was then living twenty miles north of here, was a class leader in an orthodox church, a druggist, and had been studying homoeopathy for two years. I was almost in a state of collapse from nervous prostration and other diseases, never having known a well day for years, when my mother came to visit us and brought Science and Health and some of Mrs. Eddy's other writings for me to read. After reading these for a few days I had my mother treat me, and I was healed in a very short time. I have had many beautiful demonstrations for myself and others; am a member of The Mother Church, and am trying to live so that I may be known by my works. In helping others I find I am gaining much help myself, and I am truly grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for having given to the world Science and Health and other writings which mean so much to those who have been benefited thereby.—D. W. C. Nelson, Baker City, Ore.
