It is nearly eight years since I first heard of Christian Science; then, a woman who had been saved by this healing truth when she had been given up by her physicians, told me of the wonderful power which had saved her. At that time, and for several years previous, I had been a great sufferer from a number of ailments, chief among which were catarrh of the stomach, bronchitis, and rheumatic gout. Doctors and medicine had utterly failed to help me, and this new sweet hope was brought to me in such a loving and beautiful way that I was at once ready to give up all for Truth. which I did by taking Christian Science treatment. The first treatment caused me to go home and throw away all the quantities of medicine I had in store. I persevered in this new way, and never for one moment have I wavered. I studied Science and Health, and was brought nearer to the knowledge of what God is than I had ever realized in the old way. I have found Christian Science very helpful, not only in healing the sick, but in business, and for all these precious benefits we have to thank our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has made every sacrifice for the Cause of Truth. I sought Christian Science treatment for the healing of physical troubles, but found in a short time that I had lost all desire for drink, tobacco, and profanity, and this caused me to rejoice greatly, for it brought perfect harmony.
