In loving gratitude to God, and to the dear one through...

In loving gratitude to God, and to the dear one through whom the truth has been revealed in this age, I give this testimony. A dreadful trial through which I passed, left me with nervous dyspepsia, chronic indigestion of the intestines, heart disease, and dropsy, so that I was almost a nervous wreck. For years I suffered dreadfully with these things, and often when lying awake at night (for I also suffered from insomnia) I longed to die. At these times I wondered why God had deserted me, and why all my efforts toward health and happiness failed. My courage was indeed gone, and then a dear friend made a long journey to tell us of the Christ-truth, made practical through Christian Science. Oh, what a cup of cold water it was, what hope sprang up, what a glimpse of rest! Help came at once, and many of the supposedly incurable diseases disappeared; but my greatest joy was in knowing that it was a false sense of God and my relation to Him which had been the cause of all this discord. The understanding of man's birthright of dominion, which close study brought, made me confident that all the inharmony of years' standing would be destroyed, and that I should, by understanding the divine Principle of all good, awake in God's likeness. The destruction of sickness was grand, the overcoming of sin much grander, and the awakening in part from the dream of sense to the joys of Soul, is still going on.

I am grateful to our beloved Leader, and know that my works must prove my sincerity.
