I desire to testify to all the good that has been received by me through God's loving guidance, and to express my thanks that He has sent us such a faithful messenger in our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has brought to us an understanding of the teachings of Jesus. Truly "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up."

Twelve years ago I was in the shadow of death; broken down physically and mentally. I was almost in despair, when the first ray of light came to me through Christian Science which gives "light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." From childhood I had been a member of a church and had tried to find happiness and contentment therein, but the more I tried to be a Christian the more I seemed to experience anxiety and despair. Then I began to be ailing, and for sixteen years was ill and in pain. I tried every thing that I was advised to try and had several physicians, yet all human help was of no avail. I am, however, grateful to all those dear ones who sought to help me, especially my husband, who tried every available means to restore me.

When all hope seemed gone, the messenger of peace, Christian Science, came to me. It was truly my redeemer, although my healing was very slow. For the last twelve years my husband and I have walked in this path of peace and have learned to overcome all evil through the power of God, and He has blessed our work.
