In the public ministry of the Great Physician there is no record that he worked in conjunction with the medical profession of that time. His understanding of divine Metaphysics seemed equal to every emergency. Christian Science has fallen into no mistake in rejecting the assistance of materia medica, for the reason that Spirit and matter cannot co-operate. The students of Christian Science are still outgrowing their limitations, and although they are making commendable progress, none are more conscious than they of the great need of spiritual growth. In order to comply with the full requirements of Christian healing, the teachings of Christ must be incorporated into the daily life of the practitioner.
In this age of mental reformation, in which the traditions of the fathers are gradually yielding to a more spiritual era, Christian Science is the most emphatic indication of this progressive tendency, and when better understood will be recognized as the only true method of reclaiming the birthright of man and establishing the kingdom of God on earth.
