I wish to speak of a demonstration made over a sensitive tooth which had been reminding me for some time that it needed attention. Upon consulting a dentist I found that the filling had become loose and had dropped down between the teeth, where it had been for some time. After I was advised of the size of the cavity and the extremely thin covering of the nerve, I made an engagement with the dentist and left his office.
When the appointed time came I asked a Christian Scientist for help and went again to the dentist's office. After making the preliminary arrangements, he took down the drill and proceeded to prepare the cavity for filling, stopping at intervals to enquire if it did not hurt me, but upon being assured that it did not, he would resume his work. When finally he put his finger on the tooth, he exclaimed, "That must have hurt you, for the tooth is hot," but when reassured that there was no pain he proceeded with his work, muttering something about it being "very strange."
Some time after this he told another member of our family that he did not believe I had any nerves; but the demonstration was complete, I suffered no pain. Not only in this case, but many times have the material senses yielded to the power of divine Love. We are all very thankful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her revelation of Christian Science to the world.—D. F. N., Cleveland, O.
