"Awake ! put on thy strength, O Zion!" for Easter Day has come;The new-born earth from bondage loosed, no longer blind and dumb,Has seen the brightness of the glory of the risen Star,And on this happy morn, across the eastern sky, the barOf coming light illumines man, and lifts desireTo holier thoughts and deeds, and song caught from celestialchoir.
