The great good to be derived from reading our Christian Science...
The great good to be derived from reading our Christian Science literature came to me very forcibly while reading some of the articles recently. The testimonies were helpfull,—all breathe the same spirit of love, and I would like to add mine.
From childhood I had been a constant sufferer from what the doctors called a gastric trouble which caused indigestion, heart and brain trouble, and many other ills. At last I could not retain any food in my stomach, and life was fast becoming a burden. At this time Christian Science was brought to my notice. I knew nothing of it, and when a good neighbor told me that it would help me, I turned away from it, afraid that it would disturb my religious faith. The suffering became so great, however, that I went to her again, determined to give it a trial, and the first treatment entirely healed me. Words fail to express the joy I felt when this wonderful light first dawned upon my consciousness. I was really a new creature, "old things" had "passed away" and all things had "become new." The Bible admonition to eat what is set before us was literally fulfilled by me.
It is more than ten years since this great revelation of Truth came to me, and since then I have had no sickness but what could be met and overcome in a short time and, what is more of a blessing than anything else, is the joy of helping others. I have seen almost every phase of error disappear before the searchlight of Truth, and words fail to express the sense of gratitude I feel for all these blessings.
