I wish to send my word of praise for the wonderful light...
I wish to send my word of praise for the wonderful light that has come to me through Christian Science. I had many prayers answered before the revelation of Truth through the study of Science and Health and class instruction, but it was a faith without understanding, and so unsatisfactory that I cannot remember the time when I did not long for something better than I had found as a member of an orthodox church. I was always a Bible student, and felt that as professing Christians we did not rely upon God's promises nor really believe it possible that they were all meant for us in this age. At last my prayer came to be, "Father, give me the truth, but no error;" and for three years that cry went out, and was answered, as every earnest, honest prayer will be; and I found the truth in Christian Science.
Although I did not seek Christian Science for the healing, I was troubled with what one of our best physicians pronounced heart-asthma, which caused great suffering, so that I was unable to lie down at night, sometimes for hours, and often through the day breathing would be difficult. This, and many other ailments have been destroyed, and others are being overcome daily, so I am not only able to help myself but others as well.
"Who is so great a God as our God?" How can we be grateful enough for the many blessings that come to us through Christian Science. Among the many is this better understanding of the Bible. When I think of what it means to be conscious of the ever-presence of good, and to realize that in Love, "we live, and move, and have our being," my thought goes out in gratitude that one was pure and unselfish enough to have such a revelation come to her, and brave enough to give it to those who were seeking and striving for Truth. For a long time I have wished also to express my appreciation of the help and wisdom that is shown in our periodicals, giving us just what we need at the right time, and so helping us to give to others.—Mrs. Ida D. Bragg, Cleveland, O.
