The Lectures

Before an audience that filled the Grand Opera House yesterday afternoon [December 13], Mrs. Sue Harper Mims held the closest attention of her hearers for more than an hour on the beauties and beliefs of Christian Science.

In yesterday's lecture she unquestionably struck a deeper note than was even anticipated, as many told the ushers they wanted to sit far back, as they had only dropped in for a few moments. These, because they became greatly interested, remained until after Mrs. Mims had finished speaking; and many there were who stopped to talk the matter over among themselves and ask questions as to where they could learn more regarding this subject that had been so clearly presented.

Mrs. Mims was introduced to the audience by her husband, Major Mims, in his usual graceful, easy, and felicitous style.—The Constitution.
