Excerpt from a Letter to our Leader
Boston, Thursday, January, 7, 1904.
Beloved Leader and Teacher:—Last night we had a very beautiful meeting. There were many there and we again had an overflow meeting in the vestry. A large number of business men spoke; some about their physical healing and others of the help received in their business. One said that Science and Health was worth more to him than a capital of a million dollars. There were several good cases of healing given,—some that occurred fifteen and twenty years ago, and some recently,—and several spoke of having been healed through reading Science and Health.
One testimony that pleased me very much was that of a lady who had been an invalid for three years and was scarcely able to walk. She said she felt that if she could only get to this church she would be healed. One Sunday two months ago, she made a desperate effort and came to church. During the service she felt she was healed, but she could only remember and take home with her the "scientific statement of being." That week she was able to walk three miles and has been perfectly well since. Subsequently she bought Science and Health and has been studying it, and now her husband is also interested and her child is in the Sunday School. She expressed much gratitude.
