Laying of Corner-stone in New Bern, N. C

Reference has recently been make to the work in New Bern and to the expression of practical interest which was given by our Leader in the gift of her published works, and by Mr. John Swenson of Concord, N. H., in donating the corner-stone. We learn through correspondence that the corner-stone was laid with simple and impressive ceremony December 31, and all are rejoicing in the promise of steady and rapid advance in the work of our Cause.

The Concord (N. H.) Monitor furnishes an additional item of interest in the following statement:—

"Concord has again furnished the corner-stone for another new Christian Science Church. This time the order comes from New Bern, North Carolina. The foundation of the beautiful new church will also be of Concord granite. The corner-stone is a gift to the church from Mr. John Swenson. All the literature which went into the box of the corner-stone was sent to the church by the Rev. Mary Baker Eddy. North Carolina is the Southern state where Mrs. Eddy's husband, Major George W. Glover, died, and its last legislature made the practice of Christian Science legal in that historic commonwealth.
