I am greatly indebted to Christian Science

I am greatly indebted to Christian Science. For fifteen years I had worn glasses when doing any needlework or reading, and after I had changed them several times the oculist prescribed for me eight years ago a dark eyeglass, telling me that I must always wear it. In trying to comfort my sister-in-law, who in spite of all medical assistance was gradually becoming totally blind, he told her that I had the same trouble.

The fear of blindness took possession of me. I turned to the so-called natural method of healing, submitting to different ways of massage and cold water cure, which made me feel better but brought no help. My eyesight left me in an alarming manner. The burning and stinging sensation in one eye became almost unbearable. I was afraid of the light, because every ray of it caused me pain. Religious thoughts were foreign to me: I knew only the troubles and cares of life, bitterness and resentment.

Thus I came to take Christian Science treatment and was soon free from pain. Last year I laid aside the dark glass, and last summer the other one. I thank God that I can again do needle-work, because a great deal of sewing is needed for my five children. I had all my lifetime suffered from a disorder, of which trouble I am entirely healed. As I gained a better understanding of God, I grew calm and peaceful and learned to love and thank Him.
