When I first heard of Christian Science I was in such a condition that any help was welcome. I suffered so from asthma and dyspepsia that about half the time I was unable to work, and medicine brought me no relief. In our family there was usually one of the children sick.
Christian Science has entirely healed me, and through the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we are enabled to keep well. For twelve years we have needed neither physician nor medicine. Christian Science has been our only and never-failing physician, and it has healed in our family a case of eczema, besides scarlet fever, diphtheria, and croup. We are truly grateful for the physical healing, yet much more for the moral healing.
I was without God, without an aim; a slave of sin in very many forms. For over twenty years I had not been in a church, never read the Bible, and when my wife bought one I reproached her for spending moeny so unnecessarily. But now, thanks to God, through the understanding of Christian Science, I have learned to overcome sin and to lead a better life in every way. We read the Bible daily and it becomes clearer and more intelligible through the correct and true understanding of God and man, as taught in Science and Health. I learn more and more how unreliable is the testimony of the senses, and through trials and experience I have learned to trust in God alone.
