It is to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that I owe all the peace, happiness, and harmony realized by me during the past five years, and in that interval, I have also learned to love and study the Bible as never before.

Mental unrest made me a willing seeker for the Truth, that Truth whose law is liberty, emancipating from material thraldom all who in humility and meekness turn its ever-open portals, destroying resentment and all uncharitableness, and bringing to our view the perfect man, God's creation.

I owe a debt of gratitude to the good friends who were instrumental in turning my gaze from the material to the spiritual, and I assented readily to their recommendations of Christian Science.
