It is now about six years since I came to Christian Science. I had lived in the city of New York for thirty years without ever hearing of it, and it was in Denver that I was led into this wonderful teaching.

While looking for a home, I became acquainted with a family whose members were adherents of Christian Science, and at my request they willingly gave me the desired information. The literature, especially the text-book, Science and Health, became a dear and interesting study, and I soon recognized in it the true Christian religion, free from creeds of men, a religion which admits of no hypocrisy. It was this latter point which especially attracted my attention, because in my younger days, I had seen so much of this sin that it almost made me an atheist.

As I was often in a troubled frame of mind, Science was a precious comforter to me and has helped me to overcome many a threatening obstacle. It has been the most effective medicine in destroying my physical troubles. Rheumatism, catarrh, etc., and the desire for tobacco and liquor, have entirely left me.
