In Christian Science, the nothingness of matter is a logical conclusion, deduced from the Scriptural premise that God, Spirit, is all. This teaching is not so radical as it may seem at first, for only recently such eminent natural scientists as Lord Kelvin and Sir William Crookes have publicly modified the expression of their views on this question. According to newspaper reports, they have concluded that atoms, in their last analysis, are forces, a conclusion which shows a tendency toward mental, rather than material, causation.

When Christian Science is really understood, in its simple purity, it will be found to deviate in no way from the Scriptures, from Jesus' teachings and practice.
