I know that I am standing on the solid rock of Truth...

I know that I am standing on the solid rock of Truth from which nothing can ever move me. I have felt for a long time that I would like to express through the Sentinel my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Now the time, seems ripe to tell of a beautiful proof of the allness of God, which my two children have had.

On a very warm day they asked permission to go down to the shore of the bay, and I finally gave my consent thereto, telling them to trust and know God at all times. It seems that my daughter, who is ten years of age, stepped on a log to wash her feet; as she sat there with arms folded, the log rolled, throwing her into the water. Her brother, seventeen months younger, seeing her disappear, jumped in to rescue her. Knowing the water to be deep he caught hold of a log, declaring that error could not say his sister would drown, that God is all. He finally saw her hand rise above the water, and caught it and pulled her over the log; the log rolled but Truth prevailed. They came home dripping wet. Her first words as she came into the house were, "Mamma, if it wasn't for God, I would not be here." "I don't know," she said, "how long I was under water, when God spoke to me and said 'Thy Kingdom,' and that strengthened me, and I could throw apart my arms, and with the strength of God. brother pulled me out." They both gave the praise to God. unto whom all honor and glory is due.

I turned to the little boy who stood like a little hero with brave and shining countenance, and asked, "Ernest, what would you have done if you had not seen sister come up?" "Oh, I was just going to dive down after her," he replied.
