A Loving Rebuke
Dayton (O.) Herald
CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS , the same as other professing Christians, believe in God, the only true and living God, who is Spirit, Life, Truth, Love. They believe they can only be saved through Christ, and this is what other professing Christians teach. Because they take God at His word for physical healing as Jesus taught and practised, while many other professing Christians do not, this surely is no good reason why other professing Christians should take it upon themselves to misrepresent their teachings.
If all professing Christians are to become one united brethren in Christ, should not those who name the name of Christ manifest love toward one another? If all are to be of "one mind and one accord," should we not begin to put into practice the Lord's Prayer, and say "Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come"?
No one would say that in years gone by the religious wars that have stained and disgraced the pages of history were any part of Christ's kingdom of on earth peace, good-will toward men. Neither is it any part of the uncharitable position assumed by many professing Christians leading them to speak disrespectfully of other Christian denominations.
