I feel that I have waited too long to express my gratitude for all the good that has come to me through Christian Science, and would like to tell how I reached a knowledge of this glorious truth.
I was a teacher in a German religious school. My church had been very dear to me in my earlier years, but in later years I felt that it did not give me the spiritual food I needed; I hungered for something better. One day in a social gathering the conversation turned to religious subjects. To my astonishment I heard that there were some people in Sheboygan who could heal the sick as Jesus and his disciples had done. This was eight years ago.
I had a sister who at that time was suffering, and I went to visit her. She was at the depot to meet me and looked well and happy. My first question was, "How are you?" She answered, "I am well." "What have you done?" I said. "I will tell you that later," she replied. I felt a sense of fear come over me and said, "You have turned to Christian Science?" She answered me simply, "Yes." Joy and fear struggled in me, for I had been told that this was the work of the devil.
