Up to about eleven years ago I was in good health, when my wife had an operation performed, the shock of which made me faint away. After recovering from this spell, the attending physicians declared I had heart trouble, and one of them immediately prescribed for this trouble. After taking his medicine for many years with no good results, he finally decided that instead of heart trouble it was liver and stomach trouble I had. I went from one doctor to another, all declaring my case to be a very severe one. Their instructions regarding diet were carried out to the letter, and I visited numerous health resorts. I also took all the numerous patent medicines one's friends usually recommend when he is sick, but all to no avail.

Finally a specialist on stomach disorders was consulted and he advocated washing out of the stomach, to rid me of excess mucus as he called it. I stood this ordeal twice a week for almost a year when he finally suggested a trip around the lakes for two weeks, which was taken. My weight was reduced from 197 to 142 pounds, and up to this time I had been performing my daily labor with great difficulty, but now I became so weak as to compel me to take to my bed. I was completely discouraged and unable to perform my duties at my office.

Two years ago a friend told me of Christian Science and I got up out of my bed to attend Sunday services at the Third Church of Christ, Scientist, this city. I was very much impressed with the lesson sermon. I met some old acquaintances there, who referred me to one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students for treatment. In four treatments together with the study of Science and Health and close attention to the Wednesday Evening testimonial meetings, I was healed. I have been able to eat anything I desired and have suffered no bad effects. My friends marvel at my recovery.
