On account of what had been pronounced an incurable...
On account of what had been pronounced an incurable disease, from which I had been a sufferer for more than eight years, I was in an almost hopeless condition when I left Chicago with my family last November.
About four weeks after I arrived in Prescott, as I felt no benefit from the change of climate, I thought I would investigate Christian Science. I attended the Sunday service and was deeply impressed by the Truth. The next day I called at the reading room to inquire about taking treatment and was advised to read Science and Health. I began a careful study of this most precious book and it has surely unlocked the treasures of Truth contained in the Bible.
I have been so benefited that from a condition of suffering I have come to the realization of health and happiness. For this I praise God for Christian Science which has thrown such a light upon the Scriptures. My heart goes out in gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, whose unselfish labor for others has been the means of bringing the understanding of Love to me in such a measure as enables me to realize that the many undeniable demonstrations of harmony that have come to me are possible only through spiritual growth.
