A Glance Fore and Aft
We are confident that with a greater perspective the Annual Meeting of 1902 will be generally recognized as marking an epoch in the history of our Cause. The omission of the meeting last year, the passing of many trials which burdened us then, the presence of an unusual number, including many prominent workers from every field, the delightful weather,—all contributed to a result which is both gratifying and prophetic. As a representative body it was unusually intelligent, wholesome, and enthusiastic. We question if its superior could be found it any of the great gatherings of the year. The time has passed for cynical reference to either Christian Science its exponents, and the very kindly attitude of the press large in reporting the meetings, is in evidence of a progressive awakening to this fact.
The gatherings at the varios hotels gave opportunity or that heart to heart touch by which we win a light from ur neighbor's torch, or learn to share his burden.
Perhaps the character of the meeting, as a whole, cold not be better described than by saying that it expressedthe the spirit of Love, the spirit of Democracy, and the spiri of Progress.
