Among the Churches

Owing to the proclamation of peace in South Africa a thanksgiving service was held in First Church of Christ, Scientist, London, Eng., in accord with services of the same character in the other churches in London on June 8, 1902.

The selections from the Bible were the same as those directed to be read in the other churches. The service, which was held before the regular one, opened with the hymn of our beloved Leader, "Shepherd, show me how to go," followed by reading from the Scripture and from the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Mr. W. N. Miller, the First Reader, then spoke as follows:—

"Before commencing our regular service to-day, we will, in unity with the other churches of the land, express our heart felt thanks to God for the restoration of peace, and the hope that, as the nations learn that there is but One Mind, the brotherhood of man will be understood, and that it will become as natural to obey the second commandment of Jesus, to love our neighbors as ourselves, as to obey the first.
