Advancing Thought

"Never worry about what you can't help, and never worry about what you can help."

This was the chief rule for happiness prescribed by Dr. Lyman Beecher Sperry of Oberlin, O., to more than one thousand men who gathered at the Columbia Theatre to attend the men's meeting held there by the Y. M. C. A.

"Physiology, Fear, and Faith" was the theme of Dr. Sperry's address. He explained in his opening remarks that he is not a clergyman, but a physician, who is much interested in the welfare of mankind and believes that the mental attitude has such effect on the health of the body that all men should be persuaded of the importance of avoiding mental conditions which will interfere with the functions of the physical body.
