I have thought for some time that for the benefit of the public, I ought to tell what Christian Science had done for me.
Last year I had an abnormal growth on my left hand; it was very painful and grew so fast that I was frightened, for I thought it was a cancer. Some of my friends wanted me to have it cut out, but I said I would try Christian Science, since it had performed some wonderful cures in our family; so I started for a practitioner. I stopped on the way and showed it to a doctor. He very quickly said it was a virulent cancer, and ought to be cut out without delay. But I was afraid, so we sent to a practitioner in Kansas City, and he treated it. It has left only a small scar.
It was a case of slow healing, it took over three months, but it is well, and I have no fear of its coming back. All my life I had a fear of cancer and smallpox, and while my hand was being treated, we had a very bad case of smallpox in our house, and not one of the family had it. It was all over town. People would ask us what we had, or what we did. We told them we took Christian Science. They said it was wonderful.
