Having been benefited by many helpful words through the Sentinel and Journal, I feel that I ought to express a word of gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has showered upon me, therefore in a humble spirit I will make an effort to reflect a ray of the light which has brightened my path, with the hope that it may brighten the path of some weary wanderer, awaken a thought of repentance in some prodigal son, or strengthen some struggling heart, which is battling with sin, sickness, and the fear of death.

What is Christian Science? What is it doing and capable of doing? are the questions which inquirers ask. These questions are answered in the Christian Science text-book, Science and Health, but we can only understand and make them our own in so far as we prove them by experience and demonstration. It is in this sense that I wish to add my mite in testifying to the healing and saving power of Christian Science.

From an ecclesiastical standpoint, Christian Science has proved to me to be the true interpretation of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Brought up in the Lutheran faith, I was from boyhood searching for Truth, and while I was not exactly dissatisfied with my religion, I felt that there was something lacking in it. During my investigation into everything religious, Christian Science came to my observation. In my first glance at it, I perceived that there was something in Christian Science which the other religious teachings did not have. I always loved the Bible and read it constantly, but there was a veil that obscured my understanding. Through the light of Christian Science, it has become an illuminated book, containing "the leaves of the tree," which are "for the healing of the nations."
