I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science...
I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science through our periodicals, in so far as I can do this through human language, and tell something of its great benefit to me. It is now five years since I first heard of Christian Science, and they have truly been the happiest years of my life. It was in 1897, when away from home and friends, completely discouraged with the load of sorrow which seemed to be my lot, that Christian Science was brought to my notice by a number of persons who were perfect strangers to me then, but who told me of the great blessing Christian Science was to them, as well as to their friends. I was advised to read the Christian Science literature which they offered me, and I gladly accepted it and began to read. That was indeed a glorious day for me, and again this Scripture was fulfilled, "The people which sat in darkness saw a great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up." This was surely my experience, for it was then that Christian Science proved a deliverer, when all else had failed. I procured a copy of Science and Health which I now prize more than all else. I had read but a few days, when I found to my great astonishment, that I was healed of two chronic ailments which had vanished like dew before the morning sun. Since then, many times has Christian Science proved to. me to be the comforter spoken of by Jesus. In 1898 I had the privilege of class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's students, which has been of great benefit to me and has enabled me to bring the blessings of Christian Science to many others. The way has been discovered by our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and my greatest desire is that I may ever prove faithful and follow therein.
Mrs. Emma A. Rixford, Oxford, Mich.
