According to the song I used to hear in our Sunday service, I was blind, I could not see; I was deaf, I could not hear; I was dumb, I could not speak. But, thanks to Christian Science, I learned to see anew. I found Christian Science in 1896. My eyes were then so inflamed and swollen that when I went to my work I passed mostly through the alleys on account of shame for my condition. I was deaf to our sermon, also to the English language. because I am a German. All I did understand were the words Christian Science, and Jesus Christ; but by continued reading of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, also the study of our Sentinel and Journal, and by living and practising in my daily life, I have understood as much as I needed for my daily protection.

Since I began to study Christian Science, I can testify that I have not used one cent's worth of medicine for relief, neither have any of my family, used anything except Christian Science, and we are all in good health. My suffering caused me to seek for relief and rest, and to-day I can say: I find happiness, rest, and peace in Christian Science.—E. Hugo Henschel, Chicago, Ill.
