For a number of years before coming into Christian Science I was an invalid. For weeks and sometimes months at a time I had to be taken care of, dressed, carried up and down stairs, ect. I had tried materia medica, hygiene, oil baths, cod liver oil, and climate, before Christian Science was brought me by a dear woman who told me I could be healed by it. My opposition to what I thought was Christian Science was so great that I told her I would rather not be healed than to be healed that way. However, I had not a spark of faith in the efficacy of drugs, and when I took medicine to make me sleep I became more wakeful than I was before taking it. At last, not knowing where to turn, I consented to take Christian Science treatment, and in two or three weeks I was able to take up my business that had gone on in a very poor way without me for five years.

The physical healing was nothing compared with the light that came to my darkened senses. I was in financial trouble, and in taking up my business again I brought my Christian Science into my work daily, but the financial question was not met at once. However, by persistent handling of the errors that came up, and casting out the thought of envy and jealousy, I was enabled to make the demonstration. I am most thankful to every one who has given me help in Christian Science, but especially to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
