Christian Science is a wonderful help to me every hour...
Christian Science is a wonderful help to me every hour of every day. Out of many demonstrations I may mention the following which shows the invincible protection of divine Love. Where I am employed there is a stable of from fourteen to eighteen horses, and early in the winter of 1901 a disease known as pinkeye broke out among them. One after another the horses were taken with the disease, which would last from five days to a month or more, and in one case it terminated fatally. The animals seemed to suffer a great deal, and could not be used while the attack lasted. The remedies ordered by the proprietor had no effect, and none of the veterinaries could do anything to stop the spread of the disease. It was finally concluded it would have to run its course. There were about forty people connected with the business, and I was the only one who knew anything of Christian Science. I began to work on the thought of God's protection, and made a close study of the 91st Psalm, making it a basis of demonstration. After almost all the horses were over the disease, the other drivers would say frequently, "Your turn will come next," etc. My horses were out in all kinds of weather and never missed an hour's work or a meal all winter long.
This was all the more remarkable, as the pair I drove had just come, with two others, from the eastern part of the state, and the climate is very different there from that f the coast. On that account, the first winter is supposed to be very severe on horses, until they become acclimated. Both of the other horses were very ill for a long time, and one never fully recovered, while mine have always been healthy. This was a grand proof to me of the utility of Christian Science, and it saved me no end of confusion and discord.

I will add my testimony to the truth of Christian Science as a healing power. Last February I met with a very painful accident. I burned my hand with very hot grease. Three of my fingers were burned to a blister. I was not where I could reach a practitioner, but I demonstrated myself as far as my understanding went.
