Testimony of a Druggist
"And wherefore do ye spend your money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not?"
I have been thinking lately how applicable to my case were these words of the Prophet Isaiah. For fifteen years, as a druggist, I had been spending my money for that which was not bread and my labor for that which satisfied not.
For five years previous to the time of having my attention called to Christian Science, I was a prescriptionist in one of the largest retail drug stores in New York City. My wife, who had become a Semi-invalid, had gradually during this time sunk into such a condition that all hope of her regaining even a fair state of health was relinquished. Never for a moment was she free from pain, and at times the pain become so excruciating as to require abnormal doses of morphine to give a modicum of relief. Every material means was resorted to by her physicians, but all their efforts were futile.
