Listen Well
Be still, and know that I am God.—Psalm 46:10.
In
myriad ways God sends His word,
And if we but listen well
We learn how leaf, and wave, and sun,
The wondrous story tell.
The wave by its resistless sweep,
Its constant wash and roar,
Says plainly to the restless heart,
"God is ever-present Power."
The sunlight glints on wave and sand,
And with its searching might
Through deepest shadow finds its way
And says, "Lo, God is Light."
The sun-flecked, wind-touched leaves
Spread their shelter out above,
And with protecting, tender care
They whisper, "God is Love."
