Healed of Epilepsy

It is with much joy and gratitude that I give my testimony of the good that I have received through Christian Science. For six years I suffered with the most terrible spells any one could imagine. I do not know whether to call them epileptic fits or not, as the doctors never told me what was the matter, only that it was very much like epilepsy. The last spell I had while under medical treatment, my mother sent for our family physician, and he said it was just as impossible for me to live without medicine as it was for him to live without food; that I would have to take medicine always to keep these spells off. I had given up all hope of ever being well again, as the spells were growing worse all the time.

While in this condition I came to Mobile and told a friend of my suffering. She said if I would try Christian Science treatment she thought I would be benefited. The next week I began to take treatment, and at once commenced to improve. I felt that I was to be healed; but after taking treatment two week I had two of the most severe spells I had ever experienced. Those present thought I would never regain consciousness and wanted to send for a physician, but my husband came in about that time and told them it was not necessary, he would telephone for my healer. He could not get a message to my healer that night, but we sent for him the next day to come to see me.

These spells coming on two weeks after I began treatment did not discourage me in the least, nor did it discourage my husband, for he said if there was a cure for me I must have it. We were both convinced there was no cure unless God did it. Now I am well and doing my own housework and cooking, something I had not done since I was married. Because of my ill health we have boarded until since I have my health, and I know that God was my physician.
