Dear Sentinel,

In the past, there seemed to be a set pattern for my pursuit of Christian Science. I would study the Bible and the Christian Science textbook and make some progress, but then I would gradually get distracted. I'd neglect to study, or I'd wake up late, or I'd otherwise miss daily attention to spiritual things. I'd say to myself, "It doesn't matter, God is always with me, and I can't be penalized for not reading these books for one day." I'd always consider myself a Christian Scientist, but I'd begin to lose touch with Science as a source of help on an everyday basis.

Then when I once again began to study on a regular basis, my life became so much more complete and harmonious. Once again I have an ongoing realization that everything is under God's control. When I got out of the habit of thinking spiritually, I began to see the world too materialistically. I knew that God is ever present, but I didn't really accept divine law as the norm.

I now rejoice every time I study because there is such an endless amount to learn and a multitude of places to go for help. When I read the Bible and Science and Health, I feel the weight of problems drop away from me. The simple truth of God's love for His creation clarifies my life and answers my questions.
