Q A

Q What is a Christian Science Reading Room?

A  A Reading Room is a combination bookstore, library, and study room, where the public has free access to books and periodicals published or sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society, including The Christian Science Monitor, and all of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, including Science and Health. A Reading Room also maintains a wide selection of Bibles and Bible study books. It is staffed by members of the local Christian Science church who can help those interested learn more about the Bible and Christian Science.

Q Why do you use the word Science?

A Because it is the systematic application of rules based on a fixed, divine Principle. It heals through divine laws. Jesus demonstrated the Science of Christianity in his healing ministry and his teachings. The proof is in changed and improved lives—morally, spiritually, and physically.

Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, established the Church of Christ, Scientist, "... to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."
