Consumed by guilt?
You don't have to be saddled by the past.
How much of your time is spent feeling guilty? Too much, you say? On the other hand, when it comes to the actions of others, you might think a little more guilt wouldn't hurt sometimes. Events reported in the news obviously point to the need for greater moral conscience.
Nagging guilt tries to plague all of us. We feel guilty because we don't call our friends often enough. We don't spend enough time volunteering for a worthy cause. We haven't saved enough for the future. In these cases we may feel as if we can live with this kind of guilt.
But what if we've done something really bad, have hurt someone, or have failed in a major way? Is there hope? One of the outstanding promises of the Bible says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Rom. 8:1).
