Swollen gums cured
Firmness, vigor, and strength are natural to us all as the creation of God, made in His image and likeness. I remember an experience I had that taught me the value of being firm about rejecting whatever God has not made.
Right in the middle of what seemed like a mountain of job-related stress, I realized that the gums around a back tooth were swollen. My jaw and neck were also affected. A Christian Science practitioner lovingly agreed to treat me through prayer.
In the morning, before work, I devoted as much time as possible to prayer and to studying the Bible Lesson found in the Christian Science Quarterly. This spiritual preparation for the day enabled me to be more receptive to what God was communicating to me. I knew intuitively that healing was going on, even though there seemed to be no outward change. So I wasn't surprised when several days later I woke in the middle of the night feeling the most marvelous sense of spiritual strength.
