Nine years ago, as I was going through a difficult divorce, I had my first healing through Christian Science. I had been experiencing nausea, fainting, abdominal pain, and bleeding. I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer; I wanted to "try" the spiritual truths I had been studying for eight months since I had become interested in Christian Science.

The healing was complete within one hour, and the troubling symptoms never recurred. Calmness and health replaced the former fear and pain.

More recently, I had a mole that changed size and color. I called a practitioner for prayerful treatment. I prayed to remove the fear in my thought and to understand God's complete control of my life. A deep sense of His presence flooded my thinking, and I no longer felt anxious. I considered the following citation from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: "Truth handles the most malignant contagion with perfect assurance."
