Dominion over mental depression
Depression can seem like a tyranny, but God's love frees us and brings joy.
Recently I was reading a newspaper article that said researchers have concluded that climatic conditions of spring and summer can cause some people to suffer psychologically in those seasons—an effect not so unlike the depression sometimes associated with fall and winter.
"Now, wait just a minute!" I found myself rebelling out loud. "That's the whole year!" What now—sit and wait our turn?
Don't we have God-given authority to rise in rebellion against such cruel expectations? The Bible indicates there is just such authority. The Psalmist put it this way: "Thou [God] hast put all things under his [man's] feet." Ps. 8:6.
