In the Bible, in the first chapter of Genesis, we read (verse 31): "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Through my study of Christian Science I have learned that good is the reality and that ill health, unhappiness, and lack are mortal beliefs which Truth destroys.

When I first heard of this Science (through the healing of a close friend), I had been suffering for years from a disease medically diagnosed as pernicious anemia. In addition to that, my income was low and my living conditions were most unhappy. I decided to talk to a Christian Science practitioner, who encouraged me to take up daily study of the Bible Lesson found in the Christian Science Quarterly.

Through consistent study of the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I soon learned that I did not have to be ill, that I could have plentiful supply, and that life could be happy and harmonious. As Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 527), "Man is God's reflection, needing no cultivation, but ever beautiful and complete." I learned that this statement is the truth of being, and through Christian Science I was completely healed of pernicious anemia. That was forty years ago, and there has been no recurrence of the problem.
