Communication
God's indestructible, unbroken
chain of love;
binding, yet freeing;
close-linked, yet ever-expanding;
enfolding, yet not restricting.
We—His dear-loved sons—
all time, all space,
all creed, all race apart,
linked by this golden chain
of Christlike power
each to loved brother,
All to dear Father.
Each human need
seen, comprehended,
met by a brother's love;
not forgetful, hurried, uncaring,
carried heedless
on tides of human will:
but love outpoured,
sweeping fear, indifference
into oblivion.
A sacrifice? Yet none.
A burden? Yet lighter than summer cloud.
A binding chain?
Yes—
the close-linked, ever-expanding
chain of love,
enfolding yet not restricting.
Freeing all mankind
as sons of God.
