Twenty-three years ago I learned of Christian Science through a friend. He lent me the book Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy when my husband had been ill with rheumatism for two months. He had been confined to his bed and unable to move about.
The book I received was a translation in Spanish, for at that time there wasn't yet a translation in Portuguese. Although I didn't know that language well, I studied the healing message of the book with much love and interest, reading it aloud to my husband.
In a few days he was able to leave his bed, and we began to attend First Church of Christ, Scientist, in this city.
