In God's employ
Man is employed by God, the only employer. Man's primary purpose is to express God.
These facts are true and should be acknowledged, whether or not we are receiving a paycheck. They are true because God created man to express Him—spiritually, not materially. Isaiah represents Him as saying, "This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." Isa. 43:21; Whatever our employment situation, we are, in a sense, working for God by honoring Him in everything we do.
Someone seeking a job might doubt the concept of man always active in God's employ. Such an individual, if he is neglecting to associate himself with the man of God's making, might find it difficult to accept that spiritual man is always needed by God. Christian Science wakes us up from discouragement and frustration by teaching us that they are nothing more than wrong conclusions based on the false assumption that man is a material creation. These conclusions should be seen as having no relationship to the spiritual facts of God and man. As we grasp the improved concept, false assumptions are proved powerless.
