I am grateful not only for many proofs of protection through a clearer understanding of God as the only power or presence, but also for healings that members of my family and I have had.

Before learning of Christian Science, my mother suffered from what was medically diagnosed as angina pectoris. The doctor said that this ailment could be alleviated but that Mother would never have a complete healing. After we had taken up the study of Christian Science, the instances of difficult breathing lessened for my mother and finally ceased. A first glimpse of the truth of God, and man as the offspring of God, had brought about the healing. Another outstanding healing among others that my mother had was of pneumonia when she was over eighty. Within three days the dedicated treatment of a Christian Science practitioner brought freedom from all the symptoms of pneumonia.

During the many years of my adherence to Christian Science, I too have had healings either with the prayer of a practitioner or through my own prayer and understanding of God. The overcoming of fear and steadfast clinging to the truth in the Bible and in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and her other writings made these healings possible.
