Mary Baker Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 150), "To-day the healing power of Truth is widely demonstrated as an immanent, eternal Science, instead of a phenomenal exhibition." I want to bear witness to this Christly power of Truth and to express my gratitude for Mrs. Eddy, who discovered and gave us the Science of Christ Jesus' healing method.

Some time ago I was suddenly stricken with an illness. I found myself paralyzed on one side. I was taken by ambulance to a sanatorium for Christian Scientists. There I received expert care from the Christian Science nurses in charge, in an atmosphere of staunch metaphysical support. I called for and received immediate and continued prayerful treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. From the first our goal was to see man is not a mortal with a problem, but a spiritual idea, created in the image of God.

After a couple of days, I began to see a noticeable improvement, and I persisted in spiritualizing my thought, in thankful prayer, in daily study, and in inspired research in the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Shielded from any curious or morbid speculations of others, I was free to put my roots down deeper in the effort to understand more fully and clearly what Mrs. Eddy has given us in Christian Science. Within a year my complete healing took place.
