Doing Away with Evil

Christian Science reveals what is required to eliminate evil. Mrs. Eddy writes in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, "The exterminator of error is the great truth that God, good, is the only Mind, and that the supposititious opposite of infinite Mind—called devil or evil—is not Mind, is not Truth, but error, without intelligence or reality." Science and Health, p. 469;

Truth exterminates error in thought. Error is a mental falsity, not a material condition, place, person, or thing. When one acknowledges this, and yields to the truth that there is only one Mind, one power, and refuses to identify evil as mind or man, he finds that error is being eliminated from his experience. Because Christian Science reduces evil to its lowest denominator, error, one is able to expunge it mentally with the truth.

Jesus, the great human exponent of Truth, said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Matt. 5:17; He fulfilled God's law by demonstrating the Christ, the divine idea of God, which displaces the claim of evil. All that he ever destroyed was the human belief in evil. Because God is good, is All, there was no evil then and there is no evil now. Evil, error, is nothingness.
