I would like to testify to a healing that convinced me that Christian Science is a healing Science. I had sought refuge in this Science from a spinal trouble that physicians had pronounced incurable. After trying many other religions, I went a number of times to the local branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I also went to the local Christian Science Reading Room, "where I was helped by the librarian to know that there is only one primal cause, God, and that man, the effect of this cause, must be like the cause.

Although I was in a cast for my neck and the top of my body, I knew that God is my true support, so I took off this material leaning post. My muscles seemed very weak, but I did much replacing of false suggestion with the truth and tried to love all of God's creation, and the pain lessened, I tried to understand that all cause is divine, that God is the only Mind, and that man reflects Mind.

I also used the following two passages: "Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him" (Matt. 5:25) and (Acts 9:17) "receive thy sight," which opened my eyes to the truth. I also looked up bones in a concordance to the Bible, and a statement that helped me was (Prov. 16:24): "Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." I was also helped by the statement that "a merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones" (Prov. 17:22).
